Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Zondra Johnson, Founder of Two Fly Chicks, located in Robinsonville, MS, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Two Fly Chicks. We specialize in holistic lifestyle choices. We offer a natural way to heal the mind, body, and spirit. Our customers are people who are looking for a more natural way to help with the skin, hair, and inward being.

Tell us about yourself

Growing up with my great-grandmother around made me curious because of the different herbs and other natural things she would create and use on herself and us. I noticed that even at the age of 98, her level of youthfulness was amazing. I feel that she passed this mantle to me when she left this earth. It was not until I suffered through endometriosis and had to forcefully have surgery that I knew I did not want others to feel the hurt and pain I endured. My Creator birthed in me Two Fly Chicks and directed me to take a holistic approach to healing. I began to educate myself, along with my fantastic team. We developed a skincare line, a hair line for thinning hair and other disorders that affects the scalp, a herbal tea line for different ailments, and a meditation line with candles, Sage, oils, and much more. All of our products are handmade with prayer and love.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The biggest accomplishment is seeing how a thought and a dream became a reality. Also, meeting customers we have serviced and hearing how satisfied they are.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things as a business owner is learning how to still take time for self-care. So many times as a business owner, your mind is constantly going trying to find new ways to perfect your craft. We find ourselves putting “ourselves” on the back burner. Sometimes we need to pause and press the reset button.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If I had to advise anyone looking to start a business, I would say to stay consistent and trust the process, find a team or support group that will stick by you and hold you up when you’re at your lowest, and never allow anyone to take away your passion and drive for greatness. There may be hundreds of people who offer the same service as you, but when you know your why, you never have to worry about succeeding.
