What's your business, and who are your customers?
We offer Nutricosmetic supplements for general health and beauty. Our proprietary formulations are based on the science of the nitric oxide molecule. Nitric oxide supports healthy blood flow, vitality, nutrient absorption, and a multitude of additional benefits. Our professional brand is TruBeauty, and our new consumer brand is Ultimate Beauty.
Customers for TruBeauty include integrated practitioners, holistic, wellness, and beauty. Ultimate Beauty's REJUVENATION 40+ is available on our website for men and women looking for a more natural way to replenish.
Tell us about yourself
It's easy to look back and see how every piece of my past has influenced my decision to launch Ultimate Beauty Health. My deceased father, a doctor, taught me about the science of our biology and how to use that knowledge one day to impact lives.
I've always placed a very high value on relationships, both in life and business. In the consumer goods business, it all comes down to people. Consumers are real people who are looking for solutions in the goods they buy. As a consumer myself, I always have my consumer hat on. So, when I saw a need to supply a nutritional supplement that directly ties beauty to wellness, I knew I had what it takes to bring this idea to market and make a difference in people's lives.
Nitric oxide is essential for multiple body functions and is a required compound for healing. At the same time, our bodies decrease nitric oxide production as we age, so that told me there's a need there to be met.
Through my research, I was aware of nitric oxide supplements in the workout and bodybuilding space, but I had no desire to compete with those, and those product formulations were focused only on the boosting mechanism. I wanted to expand nitric oxide much further.
We found a way to leverage the nitric oxide pathway as an advanced delivery system for synergistic ingredients that would promote beauty too. Since skin, hair, and nails are the last places to receive nutrients, we need that type of "delivery system" to get the nutrients where they need to go. To my knowledge, there is no other nitric oxide product on the market today that addresses these additional beauty benefits.
Motivation begins with my hashtag, #nevergiveup. It is when someone shares results with me that inspires and makes it all worthwhile.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Sustainability through incredible challenges these past few years.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
All the moving parts to keep everything moving forward as smoothly as possible. It takes an inordinate amount of energy. Capital is another. We have had to say no, not yet, to several big opportunities simply because we did not have the capital to back up the growth potential.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Strength and perseverance, in my opinion, must be innate for the person.
- Make sure you are covered for a year or two financially. It takes a lot of stress off in order to focus. Or keep the day job, and start the business as a side hustle.
- Think long-term success. I call it the "20-year overnight success story" because it is an accumulative experience of life, early careers, and exceptional ideas that take time.
