What's your business, and who are your customers?

We manufacture the VeggiDome "Fruit&VeggieKeeper™" This is a consumer product for active, health-oriented households. The product keeps fruits, vegetables, and live herbs fresh and alive outside the refrigerator, throughout the week. It consists of 4 pieces: a specially shaped Dome piece, a Lid, a base Plate, and a Colander piece. Fruits and vegetables are washed, trimmed, and kept ready to eat on the table or counter space. The Lid allows ethylene gas to escape while humidity from the produce remains, keeping the food alive.

The device was awarded a utility patent in 2021 by the USPTO.

Tell us about yourself

I am a dad who wants his children to eat healthy food. Over the past few years, I've learned that a lifestyle that includes many fresh fruits and vegetables is the healthiest. It motivates me to make sure that the choice of fresh fruits and vegetables is primary on a daily basis.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We did a successful IndieGoGo campaign upon launching my company.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Making sure that you are paying your workers and the bills on time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure that your product has lasting integrity.
  2. Be upfront with the people you work with, don't hide the truth.
  3. Continually update how your products are known by your customers.
