Science Based Intuitive Eating - Victoria Evans Official

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Victoria Evans, Intuitive Eating Coach, located in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Science-Based Intuitive Eating Coach who helps high-achieving women heal their relationship with food and body so they can start thriving and living a life they love.

My clients are mostly women and some men who are struggling with their eating habits and find themselves binge eating, stress eating, emotional eating, and feeling in general out of control around food. They have tried countless diets, workout regimens, calorie counting apps, etc., and feel frustrated and disappointed in themselves that they can't seem to figure out this one area of their life when they are incredibly proficient in everything else. By the end of our time together, eating feels easy and effortless; they feel confident in their body and themselves and are ready to show up in their life with a new sense of power and excitement for what is possible.

Tell us about yourself

I began my career in the corporate world with a prominent Fortune 500 company in the beauty industry in Montreal. During this time, my challenges related to eating disorders, mental health, extreme dieting, and overexercising became a catalyst for creating a solution to an issue millions of women deal with today. As a successful Intuitive Eating Coach, I am disrupting the wellness industry through my fundamentally science-based approach. I help countless women heal their relationship with food by optimizing their mindset for happier and healthier lifestyles.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Having the courage and determination to quit my fancy job and pursue a coaching career and now be making way more money and having an exponentially better life than I would have if I had stayed. It's normal to feel fear about leaving what is comfortable and safe, but what is even scarier is getting to the end of your life and regretting never having gone for it, never having pursued your dreams or building something you're proud of.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Separating self-worth from business success. It can be very difficult not to internalize any problems or issues in the business as a failure of self. As an entrepreneur, you are the business, and it can be easy to confuse how the business is going with how you are feeling about yourself. Remember that you and your business are separate entities and your worth and who you are, are not dependent on what is going on in your business. Set boundaries around when you're working and not working, and be intentional about engaging in activities and hobbies that have nothing to do with work to remind yourself of who you are.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Hire and work with a mentor who is where you want to be. I credit much of my success to hiring coaches to show me my blindspots, guide me and teach me how to avoid costly mistakes that they had made.
  2. Don't try to do everything at once. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will your business. Enjoy each phase of growth instead of trying to rush it.
  3. Know that there will be ups and downs, it won't be easy, and that's okay because it's not meant to be. Starting a business will challenge every part of yourself, and that's the beauty of it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Live a life that is authentic to who you are, not who you think you're 'supposed' to be.
