Virtual Visibility Visionary - Virtual Agility

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kate Bays, Founder of Virtual Agility LLC., located in Carnegie, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My customers are those in the trenches, battling the war for talent. Heart Shaped HR is helping job candidates and organizations alike. We shine a light on the company's mission and culture, answering questions that otherwise cannot be gleaned from a job description or website.

Heart Shaped HR is helping companies differentiate their organization or team by putting a face with the name, sharing directly what makes it the best place for team members to contribute and grow. Together we spend 15 minutes in a live-streamed interview with a representative from your organization to unpack "the why" team members love to work there.

Additionally, we go directly to your candidates. Your message goes out via Streamyard, LinkedIn, and YouTube to help you share, in a personal and relevant way, important details about your organization that will attract the right candidates. The whole idea is bringing the heart and humanity into an otherwise robotic process.

Tell us about yourself

There's a gap in our world right now. Job seekers are frustrated. Hiring teams are too. There seems to be a misalignment. I want to help close the gap.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner so far has been building my LinkedIn following. I have utilized the tool and grown my business using LinkedIn alone.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is getting sick. There's no one to cover for you. If you're out sick, the income stops.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do it! Don't think about it. Just move forward. The right time doesn't exist.
  2. Make mistakes. Use them to keep building. Perfect doesn't exist.
  3. Never quit. Small steps are still wins.
