Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in marketing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Latrice Miller, Founder and CEO of Virtual Possibilities, located in Valdosta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Virtual Possibilities is the home of a down-to-earth Virtual Assistant that makes digital marketing possible and easy for small women-owned businesses that are service/product based. As a Virtual Assistant, my passion is to share knowledge and assist goal-oriented, driven, and open-minded women. My clients are women of the community as well as the future!

Tell us about yourself

I started my business as a side hustle because I had two young babies then, and my income from my 9-5 wasn't cutting it. I have been in business for three years, and I've grown to love the satisfaction of helping my fellow sisters in business by making their visions come to life. My two beautiful boys keep me motivated and inspired to continue this journey, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been having the opportunity of creating a multitude of connections with women from different backgrounds, talents, and mindsets. The unity alone has inspired me to take different approaches to my business, and with that, I have gained strength and willpower as a business owner.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is juggling the other aspects of my life, for example, motherhood, working a full-time job, serving in the Army Reserve, and finding time for myself. Balance and time management have become two of my main focuses this year, and I will say that things are working in my favor thus far.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. There is no such thing as perfect, so stop waiting till you have everything lined up and go for it!
  2. Be okay with learning as you grow, and show yourself some grace when things don't go as planned.
  3. Success doesn't happen overnight, so trust your process and don't get discouraged by others' success, be inspired!
