Multi-Talented Entrepreneur Artist - Vita Zuka Art

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fine arts but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Vitalija Popova-Zuka, founder of Vita Zuka Art, located in Sheffield, UK.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a watercolor illustrator/sketcher with a graphic designer background. Very passionate about arts and crafts. My favorite subjects to paint are food, animals, and botanicals. My customers are from anyone who loves bright and vibrant art to businesses who want to make a more customized look to their products or decor. And of course, pet portraits are the perfect present for friends and family who could get anyone. Making art workshops occasionally.

Tell us about yourself

It is hard to tell now what exactly got me to start it. I always was close to this subject, and maternity leave helped me to come to it very gradually. My motivation is that I could do what I love, get money for it, and always develop my skills constantly.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Happy customers after workshops, happy customers who get portraits of their beloved pets.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a creative and art person, the hardest thing is all about marketing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. To find subjects that you are really passionate about.
  2. Prepare to spend all your spare time on it.
  3. Understand that this needs time to get something dissent.
