Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in skincare but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Victoria Almanaseer, founder, and CEO of VXTORIA SKIN, located in Chicago, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

VXTORIA SKIN started as an idea a couple of years ago. We wanted to create a range of products that delivered prodigious results. After quite some time in R&D, we found a formula and selected ingredients that would create the narrative for our brand. Medical results. Using high potent active ingredients and packed with peptides, our customers have been astonished by the results our skincare delivers.

Tell us about yourself

I started in the Medical Spa industry many years ago, working for a very talented injector. She introduced me into this world, and I was instantly amazed. I advanced my career in this growing industry and started growing a fascination with skincare. Every skincare product I would use would either be amazing but very overpriced, or it was just okay. I wanted to break that barrier and started formulating different ideas of what I would envision as a skincare brand of my own in the future. I would say my passion for this industry and constant fascination keeps me going. Always looking at what can be improved, what needs to stay the same, and delivering the best results I can to my clientele.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I do not believe in “my biggest accomplishment!” Let me explain further; if I felt something was my biggest accomplishment in my life, everything else would feel inferior. I believe that many things have been accomplishments and am always challenging myself to what more I can do to better my brand and product.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Challenges as a business owner would ultimately be getting people to buy what you are selling. People are oftentimes hesitant when it comes to skincare. I speak from experience. But- I let the results my brand delivers do all the talking. Somehow it does not feel like convincing but more so showing a potential buyer that this is what a couple of different people experienced when using my skincare line and then making an educated decision afterward.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You are going to hear the word NO so many times I could not even tell you. I went from begging certain places to have my product on their shelves to now having them come to me.
  2. It takes time and perseverance, and countless amounts of effort.
  3. When you feel you can not do this anymore, that is when you should push harder. It will take time, but you will achieve what you set your mind to.
