What's your business, and who are your customers?

Waxelene is a leader in innovating Organic Personal Care products. Our customers are health and environment conscious. Many of them have eczema or dry skin issues because the Multi-Purpose Ointment is so good for that.

Tell us about yourself

My purpose is to change the antiquated paradigm that personal care products have to have lots of toxic chemicals to be effective.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Getting Waxelene on the shelves of 15,000 stores.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I don't like to use the word "hard" to describe challenges. The most rewarding times have been when the cards were stacked against me, and I did whatever it took to get back on track. Where there's a will, there's a way. I see the challenges as a growth opportunity.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Visualize. Get clarity on exactly what problem you are solving, how you are going to do it, and if that's what you want to do over the next few years of your life.
  2. Plan. Make a very realistic plan. It will always be evolving. What does it look like now? This is how you will communicate your vision, like handing architectural drawings to a builder.
  3. Execute. Execute. Execute.
