What's your business, and who are your customers?
We help businesses maximize their growth through business or executive coaching to align the pieces of their business: Strategy, Processes, People, Leadership, and Vision/Goals.
Tell us about yourself
Coaching is more than just trying to motivate people. It involves a MINDSET change, building a complementary business PROCESS, and the IMPLEMENTATION of those things into daily practice. It is a partnership between the coach and business professionals.
I have a passion for helping business owners. Being in business for years, I saw good and bad run businesses. But, what really drives my passion is the following experience:
Years ago, I happened to start a business about the same time as a friend of mine. For six years, we worked, lived, and grew our businesses. After six years, I received an offer to sell my business that was too good to pass up. A few months later, my friend had an accident and could not work in his business as he had. Over the next few months, he had to sell his business for inventory and equipment rather than as a business. No one wanted to buy ‘his job.’ Because he WAS the business!! It was owner-dependent, and he got pennies on the dollar for it causing great hardship for his family.
If anything, he spent more time in his business than I did on mine. But, I walked away with a big payday because my business was structured to run without me. It was a true asset. That experience left me with mixed feelings. Happy about my payday but devastated for my friend. I still wonder how things might have been different had I thought to help him with his business. I don’t want to see any business owner go through that!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having had seven businesses, each giving me the freedom to provide for my family while choosing my life and work style.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Feeling alone. Most others don't understand what you go through on a daily basis.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get a solid vision and hold on to it. Don't let the weeds get in the way.
- Get an accountability partner.
- Inspect what you expect.
