Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tiffini Holmes, Co-Founder of Well Beings Chicago, located in Evanston, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Providing health and wellness services and solutions to individuals through health coaching, personal training, group fitness, and more. Our primary customers are busy professionals who don’t have a ton of time to spend in the gym but still want to prioritize their well-being.

Tell us about yourself

I got started in health and wellness through my own weight loss journey. While losing over 160 lbs, I realized that wellness or even simply weight loss is way more than diet and exercise, and that wasn’t being talked about. I wanted to be a resource that I needed.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is that I have been in business for more than ten years and have helped many people shed unwanted weight, reduce their stress, and become more engaged in their well-being.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is practicing what you preach. I talk to clients about work/life balance, self-care, etc. As an entrepreneur, I have to make sure I allocate time to do those same things myself, which is sometimes difficult when building a business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start! You won’t have or know anything. Learn as you build.
  2. Stick with it. There will be peaks and valleys, but it’s worth it.
  3. Make time for self-care. There is no value in building or growing your business if your well-being is compromised. Your greatest wealth will always be your health.
