What's your business, and who are your customers?

wellDunn is a Canadian jewelry company run by a team of dedicated women. We offer an array of pieces handcrafted in our Montreal atelier. From trendy essentials to solid gold designs made to last a lifetime, wellDunn has a little something for every woman. That's why our customers come from all walks of life. The one thing they all have in common, though, is a desire to look and feel their best, all while supporting local businesses!

Tell us about yourself

When wellDunn first started, I was still a university student pursuing a degree in biochemistry. I started making jewelry from home for friends and family, just for fun, with no idea that it would one day become my livelihood. I had been growing quite disinterested in my studies at the time, so you could say starting wellDunn was a kind of divine intervention.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

What I'm most passionate about as a business owner is creating local jobs for my community, cultivating a pleasant work environment, and offering a great quality of life to my team. I also love hearing our clients' feedback about the pieces; it always puts a big smile on my face to see so many women of all backgrounds integrate our creations into their daily looks.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Having to think fast, wear multiple hats and be in constant 24/7 work mode. The line between personal and professional life gets blurred when you're so passionate about your business; this can present many benefits and challenges. I wouldn't have it any other way, though.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Put your perfectionism aside as far as possible & just do it! (Believe me, I know it's hard)
  2. Surround yourself with the right people; it makes all the difference.
  3. Stay on top of trends & grow with the times.
