What's your business, and who are your customers?
Great question, haha. We definitely attract a certain kind of customers, and for the most part, it's a bunch of regulars. I personally know almost all of them, and I can say that they are Good Solid Human Beings. Our clients do good in the world; they are inspiring, and they are "on-top-of it'. I look up to them. This is why I also enjoy what I do because I get to hear people's stories and witness the beautiful journeys that they are on :)
Tell us about yourself
I've always enjoyed interacting with people. After nine years of a successful career in the hospitality industry, I got too ballsy for my own good :) I wanted to try and see what the American Dream was all about, haha. I wanted to create a business and see if I could elevate the way Employees and Customers are treated by a business. I wanted to create Value for people and be of service - because that is what drives me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We take pride in creating a stellar Team. We always made it a priority to ensure that our staff are thriving at Wonderlash and outside of it. From the generous compensation to a great life/work balance to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our staff, we have a strong solid team with a tenure of 5+ years, 3+ years, 2+years, 2+years.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I'd say that the most challenging thing has always been one thing: uncertainty. Even with the successful and very busy business, there seems to be a curveball once in a while in the form of a global pandemic, slowdown of the economy, etc. So I feel like it's important to find humor and just go: Oooh, so we have to handle this now? Ok, haha. We gotta do what we gotta do, haha.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be tough on standards but soft on people. Kindness is THE APPROACH.
- Flexibility. Be willing to try different things and see what works best. Question the Status Quo.
- Have fun and enjoy the ride. Yes, being an entrepreneur gets tough sometimes, and it's challenging, but life is short.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Well, haha. Let me be a classic businessperson who uses every opportunity to promote their business, haha. To prospective clients, I'd say that we have the state-of-the-art consultation procedure to ensure they are happy with results, and we stand behind our work. To prospective Employees, I'd say that I'd love to add one more Talented superstar to our team. Cheers!
