Get Optimized - Wren Body Wellness

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kit Wren, Founder of Wren Body Wellness, located in Golden, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own and operate Wren Body Wellness offering premium massage therapy, fitness training, and metabolic/VO2max testing services. I help athletes, weekend warriors, and everyday people overcome pain, tension patterns, and movement dysfunction to find their optimal physical state, free of faulty neuromuscular and fascial movement patterns.

Tell us about yourself

I'm an adventurer at heart and moved to Colorado in 2020 to live and work somewhere with adventure in my backyard. Denver was the perfect place, and finding a studio in Golden this year, right in the foothills of the mountains, was a perfect match. I started my business to provide premium services to the general public who were not satisfied with our medical system and the challenge of finding quality practitioners to help them overcome their physical health problems. When I was the first to train and work for bigger companies back in California, I often heard people's stories of not being treated right or with enough care when it came to their individual health needs. I set out to change this and help people get to the root of their physical ailments, not just focusing on their symptoms before sending them on their way. Optimal bodily health is more than just a beginning, it's a journey to a better life, and I love helping guide people there with as much assistance as they need to get the results they're looking for with their bodies.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is going out on my own and being able to work for myself full-time. I only started my company last year while working at a Physical Therapy Sports clinic. To be already able to do this full-time now and help so many more people is a blessing, and I'm eternally grateful to be in this position. There have also been a number of clients that I've helped get out of pain and help solve some movement issues so they have not needed to get surgery like they thought they would have to do. That's pretty amazing when you show and help prove to people there are other ways to heal that do not require going under the knife with surgery.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I would say the hardest thing is just learning and practicing all the different new skills that it takes to grow a business, from operations to marketing to financial planning- it's a lot. And learning to ask for help has been the best thing because you don't know what you don't know.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would recommend asking for help from someone who's done it before, forming the right business structure, and making sure you're really passionate about what it is you want to do!
