Coach and Trainer for Entrepreneurs - Yéza Lucas

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Yéza Lucas, a Business Coach, based in Pantin, France.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a business coach. I help entrepreneurs develop their businesses and find customers without prospection, thanks to inbound marketing and personal branding. I also help them work on their entrepreneurial mindset to get rid of their fears, have a better relationship with money, and be more confident in their professional and personal life. My customers are mostly freelancers but also marketing schools and startups.

Tell us about yourself

I never planned to be an entrepreneur. I started working as an employee in a company where I was in charge of communication and events. But working as an employee with a strict schedule and an authoritarian hierarchy was hard for me. So in 2017, I decided to quit my job and start working for myself. First as a community manager, then as a social media manager, then as a business coach. My customers trusted me and gave me the opportunity to develop a new business that fit me well.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is having free time and being able to plan my days as I want. I can work out at lunchtime, I can decide not to work if I don't want to, or work online from abroad. I am my own boss and live freely.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You don't have regular wedges. So it is not always easy to plan things. Thankfully, I have enough money in my bank account to anticipate and save some for rough times. You are not an employee, you are an entrepreneur, and it means you are on your own and have to deal with it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you have enough money to be able to pay your bills for the next 6 months (or 12).
  2. Accept that making mistakes is a key to reaching success.
  3. Ask for help when you are lost, and call a coach to help you grow faster.
