What's your business, and who are your customers?

Your Next Journey is a team of therapists and wellness professionals that are committed to supporting individuals to heal from mental health concerns. We are here to support and guide our clients throughout the healing process, from addressing past experiences to developing healthy coping skills and everything in between. While our clinic is located in Brantford, proudly serving those within the community and surrounding areas, we also offer online services to those located throughout Ontario.

Tell us about yourself

I first opened my private practice in 2021 for virtual therapy services. I have a strong passion for supporting those with mental health concerns, especially complex trauma, eating disorders and addiction. My main motivator in the work I do is my own lived experience recovering from trauma.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is moving from a solo practice to a group practice.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Wearing the business owner hat! It can be challenging to be a business owner while being compassionate and empathetic.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a list of policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure you are up to date on rules and regulations in your province.
  3. Be passionate about the services you are offering.
