Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Amitabh Sinha, Co-Founder of Agilonomics, LLC., located in Palo Alto, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are agile and leadership experts. We train, coach, and help organizations transform the way they work using Agile Principles to increase team effectiveness and performance. During our tenure, we collaborate with both the leadership and the teams to bring about holistic change. Top-bottom and bottom-top.

We also provide professional coaching to leaders and executives to help them maximize their potential both at work and in their personal lives. Our customers are primarily organizations that complete work in teams, such as software development firms, ranging from Tech Giants to Startups. Most organizations have some software development work to support their operations, products, and businesses.

Tell us about yourself

I had huge success in bringing powerful transformations to teams and leadership at several companies where I worked as an employee. I used my deep knowledge of Scrum and Agile to champion servant leadership and human values. This helped me deeply connect with individuals and groups, which laid the foundation for change.

My inner self urged me to start my own company that can serve many people and help leaders achieve success with their people and products. This is how Agilonomics LLC started. The power of servant leadership, when combined with agile values and principles, can truly bring lasting and powerful change in the corporate world.

This is what truly motivates me each day, as it creates an environment of trust and safety where employees feel connected with their leaders, who lead by serving, and both work together to realize the vision of the organization. The leaders coached by us understand that they are servants first and aspire to lead to help bring out the best in people. This is truly what is needed in the corporate world today.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, I'm on my way to a $0.5 million turnover in less than two years without taking any outside funding. We have a few direct clients who are among the top Fortune 500 companies and have piloted our own product this year. Servant Leadership Workshop (CSL).

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is to get new clients. We have consistently shown great results (see our testimonials), but being a new business, we are still weak in marketing and struggle to get new clients.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. See if you can start something that is in response to your heart's calling. Good leaders chase their dreams, but great ones pursue their calling. It will bring satisfaction, provide inner strength to keep moving, and show you the way!
  2. Connect to your own deeper self or voice every day. Take some time to recharge your own batteries so you can give your best to all every day.
  3. Grow your employees like your own family. Have a deep inner desire to bring out the best in each person. This will help you become a truly great servant leader. Focus on your people, and they will make sure your product and business will shine. Employees are humans, not resources!
