Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Alia Jamal, a love coach based in Lodi, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is about life coaching and pranic healing focused on unconditional self-love. I work with men and women who do not feel loved and want to nurture a deeper relationship with themselves, so they feel whole, healed and loved.

Tell us about yourself

In 2015 my perfect love story came to a tragic end, and I slipped into a deep depression. With the help of therapy, I became aware that I did not know myself outside of that relationship. I also had a very low level of love for myself compared to my partner then. It has been a journey of learning that brought me to a place of falling in love with myself unconditionally. Once I started embodying unconditional self-love, my emotional well-being, my relationship with others, and my life in general upleveled. I started experiencing presence, joy, and a passion for life at all times. I made it my life mission to share with others how to heal themselves, embody unconditional self-love, and experience a deep sense of peace and joy in each moment.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

End of 2020, I was laid off from my day job, and my business was only part-time. In 2021, I decided to make my business full-time and hoped my business would replace the income gap, and it did. I am so proud of myself for taking that leap of faith and helping others fall in love with themselves.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is to keep holding onto the belief that the next client will come and also stepping into the unknown every single day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do something you absolutely love. Something that you are so passionate about that you will be able to hold the image of your desire even when nothing works out.
  2. Do not do it alone. Hire a coach, or join a mastermind. Some paid commitment to hold you accountable, and it can not be your friend who is motivating you daily.
  3. Live with a question at all times. "What do you want?" Then focus on the outcome you are looking for instead of the problems you are working through. Holding the image of what you want will help you tap into the consciousness of possibilities.
