What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the owner of Estrada Fitness. I am a personal trainer and nutrition coach! My customers range from 4 years old to 70 years old. I help people transform their bodies and mindsets through fitness, healthy habits, and self-love- no matter their age.
Tell us about yourself
I have been training for about 14 years now. I worked at several commercial gyms and then ventured on my own a year and a half pre-COVID, working as a private trainer out of a recreational centre here in Edmonton. COVID pushed me to start my own studio out of my home! I love that I get to help people every single day to become the best versions of themselves.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
There are so many things I am so proud of. Being a single mom, going through the pandemic, and pushing through and making it out on top is something I am so proud of. I have worked my butt off to get to where I am, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It's all hard, haha. But in the best way. You think you will have more time for yourself as a business owner, but it's quite the opposite. Your business becomes your new baby, and you have to nurture it daily! You have to love the grind, that's for sure.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make a business plan, set goals, and an execution plan. Learn to adapt because things will not always go according to plan. Be patient with yourself, and most importantly- love what you do and believe in yourself, especially during the hard times.
