What's your business, and who are your customers?

ATH is a sports nutrition brand in the natural performance sports supplement category. Our mission is to fuel greatness using the most nutrient-dense and minimally processed ingredients. We primarily cater to niche sports: jiu-jitsu, surfing, MMA, and lifting.

Tell us about yourself

I've been an athlete my entire life, from jiu-jitsu to surfing. I realized the need to fuel properly and how nutrition played a key role. I didn't like the ingredients of conventional supplements. Supplements were supposed to IMPROVE your health, not take away from your health. So I decided to start making supplements that were minimally processed and derived from whole foods.

Our higher purpose at ATH is to empower people to achieve greatness. This is what motivates me each day to keep doing what we're doing. When you work your body, you heal your mind.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is bootstrapping a company from $0 to a 7+ figure company.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The learning curve and juggling ten different things simultaneously is probably the hardest thing I deal with daily.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a start-up and offer to work for free. You'll learn more than any degree.
  2. Join a business group and hang around people who are doing what you want to do.
  3. Find a way to win.
