What's your business, and who are your customers?
We sell Acai Bowls, Pitaya Bowls, Coconut Bowls, Fresh Juices, Smoothies, Avocado Toast & More! Our customers are everyone from kids to high school/college students, workers on lunch breaks & people coming post-gym.
Tell us about yourself
Born & raised in Brooklyn, NY, I worked in sales right out of college; however, I always had the inner fire to start my own brand & grow a business from the ground up. In 2016, Acai Bowls were gaining popularity across the country, but we had very limited options in NYC. I saw an opportunity to bring this fast-growing concept to the best market in the world, New York!
We launched at the very end of 2016, and today we have 22 locations open, with another 15 under development. My motivation each day is a mix of financial freedom, helping other entrepreneurs start their own businesses & educating our consumers on health & wellness.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Every day the company grows is an accomplishment. Owning and operating a business is a daily grind. When we reach milestones, it's the result of countless weeks/months & years of work.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Battling rising costs in this current economy.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be prepared to dedicate your life to it.
- Offer a product or service that is better than the competition.
- Make sure you hire people that are smarter than you in categories you struggle with.
