Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in wine clubs, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Carl & Mira Boucher, the co-founders of Carl's Wine Club, a wine club in Canada.

Tell us all about your business...

We are the catalysts to Canada's top wine lover community. Together we discover world class Canadian wines which members can purchase directly from the wineries and we connect wine lovers to each other and to the stories and people behind each wine.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a business owner?

At the start of the pandemic, we traveled through the Okanagan, one of Canada's wine regions. We realized that many people would not be able to visit in person anymore and would have no way to discover these amazing world class wines.

Because most of Canada's wineries are boutique, family run operations with small (but highly delicious) production, the wines generally aren't available in liquor stores beyond the wineries immediate surroundings. So we decided to bring these stories and products to Canadian wine lovers through Carl's Wine Club. Today what keeps us as excited as day one is the vibrant community of wine lovers that has joined us in our wine adventures...and of course, the world class wines!

As an entrepreneur, what does success ultimately mean to you?

Our biggest accomplishment is the connection and fun we have with our members.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being an entrepreneur?

One of the hardest things as a business owner is that you can't do everything all at once! We have so many exciting ideas and plans, and the key is to prioritize and know that we will do it all...just not all at once!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

The first tip for anyone looking to start their own business is to just start!

The second tip is to test and iterate and improve each day. We took an engineering approach to all our messaging and offerings which allows us to improve a teeny bit every day.

And finally, no one ever built a successful company without having fun. It's so important to enjoy the journey!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If something inside of you is telling you to chart your own path and run your own business...don't ignore it! Go for it!
