Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Claire Darr, Founder of Claire Darr Transformational Living, located in Dallas, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a transformational life coach. I help people who are stuck and want to upgrade their lives start to uncover what their one true dream life looks like!

Tell us about yourself

It all started after law school when I believed the story that you had to work hard and try harder to get ahead. After years of sacrificing my life and health for work, I realized I was meant for more. I actively started working towards rediscovering who I once was and daring to dream of the life I always wanted. I found ways to put this into practice. Through the steps and program I have developed, I teach people how to start trusting, loving, and believing in themselves again and then put it into practice and create the life they want.

I get up each day with the intent that someone's life is going to be better that day. That someone is going to feel the joy and happiness, and accomplishment that I get to feel every day. That my incredible experience will have a ripple effect and an impact on this world far beyond what I can imagine. Families, children, health, and careers changed for the better.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing the transformations of my clients. Hearing their stories. Seeing the smiles on the faces of their families. Knowing that generations will experience better what we are doing today. Being able to say I get to do this!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Getting out of your own head and stopping being your own worst critic. Continuing to believe that the work I do in the weeds will have a huge impact on someone.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get clear. I mean, really clear on what it is you love. What makes your heart sing? What lights you up inside and trust that you have something to offer, and you can turn it into a business.
  2. Have a trusted team of mentors, guides, advisors, and sounding boards around you. It can be a friend, someone in a similar place, or someone from a group you have joined. Do not isolate or feel that you are an island.
  3. Continue to seek out new challenges for personal growth. Your business will only grow to the extent that you are willing to grow. Challenge yourself. Hire a coach, learn something, master something. Continue to prod yourself along the way to be better.
