Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hans Brost, Owner of DDAmanda, located in Palm Springs, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We have a Stock Trading and Research Software Application.

Tell us about yourself

I've been programming all my life and also trading stocks. I wrote DDAmanda because I was looking for software to help me trade stocks, and there was nothing out there that had the features/tools that I wanted. It gives me great pleasure to program; it is my motivation. And also to provide features that help others to trade stocks effectively, in other words, to make money.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

DDAmanda used to be a desktop application. I'd say getting her online for everybody to use is my biggest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Fighting resistance. There is something in us that holds us back; overcoming that is the hardest thing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You have to be interested in whatever you do in order to make a success out of it.
  2. Listen to Universal Intelligence. Sit quietly and do nothing. Ideas and thoughts on a course of action will always come to you.
  3. Follow those thoughts and take action on them.
