Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Amilya Antonetti, CEO of Designing Genius, located in Garden City, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We provide quick, fast, and immediate insights + resolutions to people's problems in relationships, families, partnerships, and children using our human behavior tools, games, and tips. Our "people operating system" allows businesses and teams to implement a "people first" focus on solving the people challenges of today.

Tell us about yourself

I've been a serial entrepreneur since selling my first business at 19. Since then, I've been blessed to lead across nine companies and six successful exits. My career has given me the honor to lead 53,000 employees and to have served more than 700 athletes, musicians, and entertainers, as well as business CEO and influencers. My motivation is to help people better today than yesterday. To show up as the best version of myself and not give leftovers to those I hold closest to me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm blessed to have built a solid reputation and an incredible network of colleagues. Being invited into opportunities to deliver consistent results in my area of genius, "solving people's problems," has gifted me to do what I love. Doing what you love and teaching others to do the same is a dream come true. Knowing that leaders and people trust me to guide them through life's toughest people challenges is both an honor and great responsibility. I take both very seriously.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Making the hard decisions, your team relies on you to make. Consistently doing your own personal work to remain the best leader you can be. Sacrificing average to become extraordinary.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You must learn to become it before you get it.
  2. Accept it's not easy, but you are designed to do hard things.
  3. Don't try and go in 2 directions at the same time - contradiction can kill your mental strength.
