Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Doogie Levine, CEO of IAS Business Coaching  & Consulting, located in Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We teach small business owners how to trust their business through management training, process design, and experience design.

Tell us about yourself

I fell into what I'm doing when a friend came up to me and asked me if I could help their buddy start a business. I said yes; 6 months later, he went from an idea to a fully functioning business. Then I continued on that path; I learned the biggest challenge facing SMBs is not sales but operational practices. That is how IAS's mission of teaching trust in business was born.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think when clients can go on vacation for the first time in 10 years or see that their employees can make the right decision without needing them. Increasing a company's profit margin by 5% was not bad either.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It can be challenging to stay motivated to do all the little things.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a reason why your business is needed that is not self-serving.
  2. Make sure you build relationships above and below you in your ideal customer's journey
  3. Make sure you at least have a CPA, and Lawyer when getting started
if you want to do it right, have a mentor and a coach.

Where can people find you and your business?
