Pure Minds offers Mindfulness & Meditation Workshops to the public and corporate sectors. Many of our workshops are based on my International Bestselling book, Let That Sh*t Go.

Tell us about yourself

An unexpected childhood tragedy got me into mindfulness & meditation over 20 years ago. After climbing the corporate ladder for a decade, I yearned for something more. I moved to Northern California and lived in an ashram for a year to further my study. Upon return, I realized that so much of ancient wisdom can be applied to the stresses and anxieties we have today. I'm motivated by the passion to bring calm and happiness into people every day, and nothing inspires me more than the feedback I get from my clients and readers.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping others find peace and hope through adversity.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The unpredictability. Working in corporate, your income is predictable, and you have a good sense of your day-to-day once you've settled into your role. As an entrepreneur, each month can look so different.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. I read a quote once that said, 'Write your purpose in pen and your path in pencil.' This nailed it for me - as a business owner, you inherently know what drives you and ignites that passion, but how it manifests can look so different than you imagined. Have a plan, but don't be attached to it, be open to new possibilities as you never know where the path can lead.
  2. Get out of your own head and just do. Let go of the overthinking of everything. Of course, everything requires some planning but avoid the analysis-paralysis. A part of running a business is trying new things, failing, learning, and running with things that take off.
  3. A monk said to me once, 'As long as you're walking a path that is not meant for you, you're going to feel like you're walking with a rock in your shoe.' With every initiative, ask yourself if it's aligned with the core of who you are, your values, and your objective. Stay true to yourself.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I was never a good English student, yet somehow I'm an International Bestselling author! Never give up!
