What's your business, and who are your customers?
Fios Beauty Bar & Academy is a beauty salon/studio providing beauty services making women feel beautiful, as well as an academic school teaching and empowering women to start their own businesses, helping them build confidence. To be ready in the beauty world! On the other hand, I also own a small Japanese. Cafe shop with a Hispanic twist. We put our hearts into offering our best to our customers. At Ponyos Cafe, our hope is to provide service that will bring joy to our Charlotte community.
Tell us about yourself
Hi, my name is Fiorella. I am a Peruvian entrepreneur and master instructor practicing for 4+ years in the beauty industry. I have trained over 300 students and artists all over the NC & SC area who have gone off and started their own businesses. I started in 2018 as I quickly found my way into the beauty industry with lashes, esthetics, and permanent makeup. As a beauty instructor, I ensure all of my clients have a life-changeable experience as well as good surroundings. In 2022 I opened Ponyos Cafe and are still in the progress of opening our storefront and so much more! What keeps me going every day would be my two kids and my father. Everything I do and will do is for them. They deserve the best. They deserve what wasn't given to me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment would be opening my storefront and studio and being in the process of opening a coffee shop. I love empowering women to start their businesses and become strong leaders. In 2021 I reached my goal of making my first million, and now we only go higher!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
In business, timing is everything. There comes the point when you have to expand, build teams, and make important plays to get to the next level. This can create a lot of stress for business owners. One false move can put you out of business, but one right move can propel you forward.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Begin with a detailed plan.
- Create a marketing strategy.
- Try not to over-share your plans and dreams with anyone because you may never know what people's real intentions are.
