Tell us all about your business...

Cooking School. Recipe developer. Home Cooks. Corporate events. Private parties.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a solopreneur?

I am an Occupational Therapist by training who left my career to pursue my passion, cooking, and teaching. I am motivated by "tasting life and culture." That is how I develop the recipe and pass on information.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Running a successful cooking school with repeat customers. Developing my style. After 20 years, building one of the busiest virtual cooking schools.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

Coming up with new and creative content every day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

Do it. Jump in. Be true to your talent and build upon that. The rest will come. Be passionate; people will become addicted to you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I am proud to say that people tell me that I single-handedly taught them to cook, that they love being in the kitchen, and that they now feed their families with confidence and ease. For the past 21 years, my recipes, tips, and instructions have been in kitchens helping people cook and enjoy doing it. My grandmother taught me that there is no better place or way to gather friends and family than around the dining table. I grew up in a family that believed home cooking was paramount and an essential life skill. A tradition was of utmost importance, and whether it was a holiday dinner, a get-together with friends, or a celebratory meal, food helped feed almost every practice. I find that when I take a break from classes, I end up having dinner parties. I can’t seem to get out of the kitchen. I love to create, taste and present. Moreover, I need to inspire others to explore and enjoy it, too.
