Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Amber Schworm, Co-Founder of Glenn and Amber, located in St. Petersburg, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is VestorPRO, and our mission is to help everyday people create wealth through real estate investing. We're committed to teaching as many people as possible what we've learned from our years of experience so they can create immediate cash flow, grow assets, and build long-term passive income.

Tell us about yourself

We started in 2007 out of desperation. But that first flipped house has now turned into over 1000 real estate deals! But it started with one! After a few years, it becomes pretty routine, so what excites me now is helping people get started on their own real estate journey. I have a really soft spot for moms, especially because it allows moms to still contribute to the family income, as well as offering a very flexible schedule to accomplish all the things a typical mom has to. The whole mom-guilt thing is real, so why not find a career that allows you to have your cake and eat it too!!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a real estate investor is rewarding in so many ways. It allowed us to buy our dream home on the coast of Florida, it offers us the chance to be great role models for our children who see us working towards our goals and dreams, and it affords us the opportunity to improve the community, create much-needed jobs, and we are able to support the charities that are near and dear to our hearts. Last but certainly not least, sharing knowledge with our students is an amazing feeling as we get to guide and mentor them and then celebrate their success. It's an amazing feeling. The pride that comes with being a real estate investor and creating generational wealth is something very important to us as well.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Growing and scaling come with many challenges. The personal growth that is needed should be noted. The person you are when you are in the beginning has to continue to learn, develop, and acquire new knowledge to get to the next level. Change is good, but it's not always easy. As far as working with our students, I'd say that helping people get past their fears and self-limiting beliefs is a challenge but one worth rising to the occasion for! The students we coach and mentor are incredibly rewarding for them and for us.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Education. Find someone that has what you want, and do what they do. Fill your mind with knowledge and positivity.
  2. Make the choice not to let your own "head trash" and self-limiting beliefs stop you. We ALL have head trash from our childhood or other life experience. You aren't your past story. Live in the now and work for your future.
  3. Take action! Too many people talk about it but are too afraid to pull the trigger. Get to a place in your life where the pain of changing is less than the pain of staying the same. The time is now!
