Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in training and education but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Garry Golden, Founder of Into the Future, located in Brooklyn, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Into the future is a design-focused learning space for young minds of all ages. Our primary community is 2nd to 5th graders who want to imagine, design, and build objects from the future that might change the world.

Tell us about yourself

I am a professional Futurist who works with leaders from large corporations who are interested in exploring how the future might transform their industry. Launching Into the Future started a new chapter in my career where the focus shifted to young people in our local Brooklyn community. I am motivated by being in the presence of young minds who come up with creative combinations of ideas and building materials.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment was signing our lease in December 2019 and then holding steady during the first year of COVID before we could officially welcome young people into our space!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is understanding all the bureaucratic red tape in launching and sustaining a small business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Focus on local markets based on real-world physical retail spaces.
  2. Build a business that helps people learn and grow.
  3. Get lots of sleep.

Where can people find you and your business?
