Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Trilanda Colbert, founder of Kei2Health LLC., located in Indianapolis, IN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach. I help people set, achieve, and maintain healthy lifestyle changes. In addition to my coaching services, I offer meal prep (vegan & non-vegan), vegan baked goods, cooking classes, and workshops.

Tell us about yourself

I became interested in natural healing due to some health concerns in my early 20's. Over the years, my interest and knowledge increased in the health and wellness field. In March 2018, I learned that I had a heart condition. I decided to leave my corporate job to focus on my health. With much rest, clean eating, and other natural remedies, I was completely healed and able to stop taking medication. I decided not to return to the corporate world as I wanted to focus on helping others live healthier lives. In January 2019, I decided to pursue a certification in Integrative Nutrition Health Coaching. With this certification, I am able to utilize my personal experience and education to help others unlock their Kei2Health. My goal is to educate and provide healthy foods to anyone desiring to create a healthier lifestyle. My baked goods and foods are made with lots of love and all-natural ingredients.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Establishing a business just before COVID hit, not only surviving but thriving through the pandemic. By early 2021, my business income will have more than doubled since incorporation and has continued to grow.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing has been doing everything by myself and having balance. I'm the chef, the baker, IT, and marketing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your market and competition.
  2. Join an Entrepreneur Peer Group; you don't have to build alone.
  3. Start slow, and allow your business to grow organically.
