Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Linda Aldredge, CEO of Lulu Organics, located in Minneapolis, MN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Lulu Organics is a small beauty and wellness company based out of the Midwest. We offer a wide range of natural and organic products, most notably our famous dry shampoo. Our products are handcrafted and safe for both the user and the environment.

Tell us about yourself

I got into making products when I was living in NY and wanted safer and simpler choices in my beauty regimen. I have rosacea and am soooo sensitive to most mainstream products. Being able to be my own boss is what motivates me most days. Being able to wear a lot of hats and make both creative decisions and problem solve.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment has been that I've continued to grow and be profitable even after 14 years.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Weathering supply chain issues and recessions. Being able to pivot at a moment's notice! It's definitely something I'm good at but no less challenging.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Create a business plan! Set long-term goals and take everything with a grain of salt. Keep a big-picture attitude at all times.
