What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Career Coach that works with professionals across the United States, where I work with them on everything from their resumes, LinkedIn Profiles, Job Search Strategies, and Interviewing. Most importantly, I help them navigate the job market so that, in the end, they understand themselves, which will allow them to achieve their goals, land their dream jobs while finding their passions, and succeed in their careers.

Tell us about yourself

I had 20+ years as a recruiter and, in 2018, pivoted full-time to Career Coaching, realizing there was a lack of coaches who have had actual experience working in the job market with both clients and candidates. I am motivated every day by my clients, who tell me they have landed their dream job and how much they have learned through the process.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building this business. I started this business when I literally didn't have a dime to my name. I was coming out of financial issues and had to take a chance on myself.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When you are first starting to grow your business, it's going to be hard, and it's going to require a lot of hours. You carry the weight on your shoulders, and there are going to be times you want to throw in the towel, but you have to really remember your why. Why did you start this and remain focused on that!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First, have a plan. Second, be prepared to put yourself out there in order to attract clients, and third, you might feel you need to take in every single free tip and resource, but you don't. Pick leaders in the business. There is so much information out there it can feel overwhelming.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Trust yourself that you know what's best, and take advice with a grain of salt. You may make mistakes along the way, but that's going to be your very best teacher. Everyone will have an opinion about what you should do, how you should change, or how you should do things differently.
