What's your business, and who are your customers?
A music production company specializing in music based on ancient wisdom traditions and modern neuroscience. Our customers are a global audience seeking sophisticated music to enhance mindfulness, healing, and brain health.
Tell us about yourself
I have a 45-year career as a Licensed Acupuncturist and somatic educator. I have always used music to help create a healing environment in my treatments and classrooms. Much of the music in the New Age category that I utilized lacks a high level of musicality and has become boring. A chance meeting with Yuval Ron, a renowned Hollywood composer and performer at Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, in 2010 changed my life. I asked Yuval if he was interested in elevating the music used in meditation, yoga, and healing by using proven techniques of modern neuroscience and ancient wisdom traditions along with world-class musicians. He was immediately intrigued by the idea. From that moment on, we have been creative partners.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have received 4 Grammy Award nominations and established a worldwide following.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
We started our company as an economic tidal shift was occurring in the entire music industry. People stopped buying music and began streaming. So the hardest thing for us is the economics of producing the highest quality music when the renumeration is very low.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
