What's your business, and who are your customers?

Prescribed burn sauces is a family-owned, small-batch sauce producer. Our customers are anyone who loves great flavored sauces, condiments, bbq, etc.

Tell us about yourself

I was a key accounts specialist for a large brewery and had been in the adult beverage industry for 20 years when I decided to finally quit and stay home with my kids during the pandemic. This made me want to start cooking and coming up with sauce recipes which eventually went from selling on Instagram to being available in over 32 regional and six national locations, with more on the way.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being chosen for a nationwide hot sauce subscription box and having 4k new customers in under two years of being in business.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Never clocking out and balancing my personal and business life.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a solid plan to grow as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  2. Have a viable product or service.
  3. Be ready to invest all your time and money if you truly believe in what you're doing.
