What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a Montreal-based hair salon that specializes in all forms of protective styling with a focus on afro hair. We also sell some hair extensions as well as some hair care products.
Tell us about yourself
I have always had a passion for hair and entrepreneurship. I absolutely love what I do, and I love the freedom it gives me. Seeing my customers satisfied is another factor that motivates me to continue doing what I do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have recently opened my salon space and hired a staff of 4 stylists. This is my biggest accomplishment so far.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The uncertainty. You may come across difficult clients, and so you have to adapt. You’re also constantly working to keep the business afloat.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Keep your expenses low.
- Always be open to learning.
- Keep up with the trends.
