What's your business, and who are your customers?
Pink Light turns skincare from a chore to a ritual with luxurious and sensorial products and treatments. I help women cultivate a loving self-perception about skincare and aging and teach them how to care for their skin in a beautiful and holistic way.
Tell us about yourself
I am a licensed esthetician, herbalist, and holistic skin care specialist. I started Pink Light in 2010 when there were little to no luxurious and truly natural/holistic options for spa-level skin care. I wanted to cultivate a skincare brand rooted in self-love and self-acceptance that brought true beauty into everyday life. I created Pink Light from the perspective of an herbalist, understanding the skin as an organ and skin care as whole body self-care. What motivates me each day are my clients and customers who are learning to love and take care of their skin. Skincare from a loving, holistic perspective has changed my life and the way that I feel about myself, and I love that I get to inspire others in the same way.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping to inspire others and turn the tide of skin care to embrace more natural products and self-loving practices.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Becoming enmeshed with your business. The highs and lows can feel so personal.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Choose days that you'll have off from the beginning and stick to it (for example, I never work Sundays and never have).
- Make sure it's something you have a lot of passion and steam for because it's a long haul.
- Whatever you do, be consistent; it makes all the difference!
