What's your business, and who are your customers?
Precious Beauty Lounge is focused on providing my clients with the beauty that defines them and empowering lash artists to reach their full potential and be that boss they know they can be. This is the very core of Precious Beauty Lounge.
Tell us about yourself
I have always had a knack for all things beauty and business. I started out as a makeup artist over six years ago in Nigeria, then moved to Houston and then Canada. During the pandemic in 2020, my hours were cut, and I had to work two jobs to make ends meet. So I made a decision to do something about my life, and I wanted to do something I have a passion for (beauty). Took my first lash course in October 2020 and started lashing on November 1st, 2020.
It all began with passion, imagination, and persistence. I became a Lash artist and quickly grew my business by learning new skills and lash designs, and I’m still constantly challenging myself. My WHY: I believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful, not just with enhanced beauty but with “beauty that defines who you are.” I wake up every day determined to be 1% better than I was yesterday and also help my clients achieve this too.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is launching my product line and training amazing lash artists.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being a business owner means you have to work round the clock, with a lot to do. The hardest thing would be to know when to take time for myself, so I can give my 100 percent.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Persistence is key!
- Be passionate about your goals and focused on what you want to achieve because your clients see this, and this is what attracts them to you.
- Don’t be stressed if it’s slow at first; just keep going, keep pushing and watch yourself grow! It’s all worth it in the end.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! You are your best bet, don’t give up on yourself. Start with the end in mind - visualize your goal, work work work towards it, and you’ll live your dreams.
