What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hi! I'm Karen Braveheart, and I'm the CEO/Founder of Prodigi Kids, a mission-driven DTC brand located in San Diego, CA. We exist to help solve the global mental health crisis by radically changing the way we raise our kids with positive self-worth so they grow into adults who live happy, fulfilled lives. The current shame-based model of parenting is completely broken and has been proven to lead to low self-worth, addictions, mental health disorders, unhappiness, etc...

You can learn more about our new revolutionary parenting methodology in our eBook, the Prodigi Kids Self Worth Parenting Paradigm, downloadable for free for a limited time from our website, It's based on the latest neuroscience on the subconscious brain and my own personal life experiences. Our products and content help parents connect with their children in neuro-emotional loving moments, the building blocks of positive self-worth. Our customers are amazing. They are parents of young children and grandparents too.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a lawyer turned entrepreneur and mom of 3. I had no idea that my life was going to go in this direction to create Prodigi Kids. I just followed what made me happy and worked hard. It all started when my daughter was 18 months old and threw a placemat that claimed to stay stuck, full of small bite-size pieces of food- meatballs, peas, spaghetti, red sauce. Within seconds, she picked it up and hurled it into the air, and everything went flying everywhere. It was a nightmare to clean up, and I was so stressed out.

I knew from my own upbringing that I wanted to raise my kids differently and wanted to remove the stress from what happened, so I had a lightbulb moment and became determined to invent something that actually worked. Mealtime should be a time for connection and family bonding- not stress! I tried everything on the market that claimed to stay stuck, and none of it worked. I was still left with the same stressful situation.

So, fast forward, and I've changed that by inventing the best baby suction plate on the market today- the Adi plate. It's the most technologically advanced suction system that exists, and we have patented a toddler-proof release so that only grown-ups can figure out how to release the powerful suction. You can check it out on our website at under SHOP.

During the design process, I realized I have a gift as a product designer that makes products that connect parents and kids in neuro-emotional moments of connection, the building blocks of positive self-worth, and intuitively know how to design products that have this built into their DNA. Our products are an immersive experience in love between parents and their children that build strong brain foundations that lead to inner happiness in adulthood.

Long story short, but I connected the dots with raising kids with positive self-worth and realizing that is the main ingredient in true inner happiness as an adult through my own life experiences and healing my subconscious brain, which led to my own inner happiness. I received the opposite growing up, and I want all kids to grow up believing in themselves and their dreams. Buying our products, reading our content, and following us on social media will help teach parents the biggest gift they can ever give their kids- the path to true happiness. I think that's what parents truly want most for their children, but they were never taught how to do this until now.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I spent five years creating the Prodigi Kids Parenting Self-Worth Paradigm based on my own life experiences and researching the latest neuroscience on emotions and the subconscious brain. This is built into the core DNA of every product you buy from us and our content. It was hard seeing other businesses take off while I was still building the foundation for Prodigi Kids. I had to overcome many setbacks and challenges to get to where I am today.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I've been fortunate to work with really great people. I think one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is that you have to fire people that you thought would be a good fit for your business when you initially hired them, but you later find out that working with them, they are not. You can't let that energy negatively affect your mission and bottom line. You need to fire them quickly, learn the lessons, and move forward in building your dream. Onward and upward!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top 3 tips that I'd give to anyone looking to start, run, and grow a business today are 1) to go for it. If you have a dream inside your heart, it's your responsibility to make it happen. 2) The second tip is to learn resilience. You will have challenges, and it's your mental outlook that will get you through them. You can't control a situation, but you can control how you're going to react. It's about how you get back up and pivot that will keep you building your business. 3) The 3rd tip is to always listen to your gut or intuition. It's never wrong. Can I add a 4th tip? 4) no from one person simply means next. Keep moving, and keep your chin up. What's meant for you will always arrive. Just keep going.
