Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ursula Pottinga, President, and Co-Founder of Profound Growth, located in Kissimmee, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Profound Growth is a coaching and training company focusing on the neuroscience of prosperity. We work with individuals, families, and wealth advisors on how to overcome money blocks and create sustainable abundance and awareness of what true abundance means.

Tell us about yourself

I have been a coach and trainer for over 20 years. I love that coaching is empowering to the client who is on a journey of internal reflection, learning, and growth. My adventure in neuroscience started ten years when my business partner inspired me to follow her into this field, and thru brain-based tools making coaching more understandable and accessible. I wanted to branch out into the field of prosperity because I saw much frustration (and myths) out there that didn't help people truly feel abundant.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Staying with it through the harder beginning stages and making it to 20 years, constantly re-inventing myself and learning.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think sticking with it even when certain initiatives fail and you want to give up. Seeing these things as learning opportunities can be tricky. It's also important to have support because it can get lonely and confusing, and overwhelming. That's why having a coach is so important.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. No matter where you are on the journey, "begin with the end in mind" (Stephen Covey). Have a larger, big picture vision that helps you focus on what you need to do daily.
  2. Experiment, and don't worry when something doesn't work out. Put your loving, kind, and collaborative energy out there, and good things will happen. Be curious about yourself and others - what worked and didn't work and why?
  3. Celebrate your progress- even when it's small, every day. Stay grateful that you get to be in this business (whatever it is). If you are spiritual - pray and praise God! (or the angels or whatever you believe in.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Yes- hire a coach...I can't emphasize enough that someone who can be a sounding board, someone who can help with direction, encouragement, and support like that, is invaluable!
