What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is a fitness apparel brand that provides high-quality and comfortable fitness apparel and gear for the "athlete in all of us." We support fitness enthusiasts, gym-goers, runners, and athletes of all levels who prioritize performance and comfort in their workout gear.

Tell us about yourself

I'm fortunate to be able to make a living in the fitness industry, where I'm motivated to stay in top shape and inspire others to do the same. I started Pump Dog to design better apparel for the gym.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was opening a retail store in Center City, Philadelphia.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a solopreneur, one of the major hurdles of building a business (and a brand) is acquiring the various competencies necessary across multiple positions.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your audience and avatar.
  2. Know what suite of products your audience buys.
  3. Get a mentor and/or business coach.
