What's your business, and who are your customers?

Pure Lash & Beauty is a lash and brow studio with a focus on and specialty in the art of eyelash extensions. Established in 2015, it is a space to express creative passion with the intent of creating elevated beauty experiences. The team aims to deliver top-notch results in beauty treatments that empower + embrace every unique individual. As an educational studio, we are continuously investing in our craft through ongoing training while offering our knowledge through our various mentoring and apprenticeship programs. In addition, the Pure Lash & Beauty Academy will offer various training courses, which are launching early this summer.

Tell us about yourself

I began my career in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist, working mostly behind the chair as a hair artist. My love + curiosity for all things beauty brought me to find a lash extension training program when the industry was still new. I was instantly hooked on this new treatment and worked tirelessly to perfect the craft. I've devoted the last 16 years to learning, working, and growing in the lash + brow industry, with a focus on business building. Throughout my career, I've collected experiences that I now use to support others in achieving their goals with empowering education + inspiring insights. What motivates me the most is hearing from others that I am helping them achieve their beauty + business dreams. Seeing the impact that lashes + brows have on others, both through the service and the education, is what keeps me going.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That Pure Lash & Beauty offers an environment where others love to be, to create, express, and call home. It's all I've ever wanted from the business, and knowing that this is true is my biggest accomplishment. The team is the pulse - made up of supportive and talented professionals focused on the same goals. Through collaboration and coming together as one, we've built a strong, supportive community that has allowed us to express our passions every day, even through challenges out of our control.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There is a lot of sacrifices that come with owning a business. It requires an investment of time, money, and massive effort. Every day presents new challenges + opportunities, and sorting and navigating these takes discipline and focus. It's a full mind, body, and soul experience that never stops.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Dream your vision, make the decision, believe in yourself, and take massive action to accomplish it. This will make you unstoppable.
  2. Prioritize, appreciate and love your team and customers. They are the most important part of your business.
  3. Sweating the small details is what makes pure magic. I call it seeding the lemon..going above + beyond with every detail will leave a lasting impact that will separate you from the rest.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

For anyone that has a vision + dream to open a business, I hope that you stay laser-focused on it until it becomes a reality. Hard work is the price of entry into the game, and if you work + sacrifice like most won't for a few years, you'll be able to live like most don't for the rest of your life.
