Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Marine Obin, Founder of PURPAUSE, located in Paris, France.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Purpause is a beauty and wellness brand that offers natural alternatives to free women from concerns affecting their daily life and helps them regain control of their well-being. We currently have three supplements addressing feminine issues such as premenstrual imbalance, pain and disorders, premenopausal troubles, stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, hormonal acne, and other skin concerns.

Our supplements are natural, vegan, allergen-free, super 'clean' (without questionable or controversial ingredients), eco-responsible, and designed by health experts.

  • 100% made for women, with dosages respecting their needs and specificities
  • 100% active ingredients for optimal results. Nothing useless that fills the capsules (no additives), only ingredients with proven benefits (scientifically backed-up).

Tell us about yourself

Before Purpause, I worked for luxurious and iconic cosmetic brands and traveled the world. In Asia (where I lived for more than a decade), I discovered and learned about various holistic approaches to beauty, wellness, and health. I am also a Doula and a Yoga teacher. So naturally, my passion and knowledge of women's well-being became the roots of Purpause.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Purpause formulas! Having 100% active ingredients is unique on the market: a regular supplement is between 20% and 80% of active ingredients depending on price and 'texture/usage' (to say gummies, powders, or caps). Moreover, these ingredients are highly qualitative and effective. When consumed together, the formulas work in synergy, enhancing each other without the risk of "overdosing" some ingredients to offer a real custom-made solution to each woman.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Running a business requires a lot of energy and commitment. Purpause is my third baby, so I tend to give it all. I am trying to be very disciplined and act like an athlete who has to run marathons, sprints, and competitions and needs to recover too! Preserving healthy daily habits, work schedules, and life balance is capital for me. I can't live without Zen Master, my secret weapon for staying calm in every situation!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start before you're ready, even if it's not perfect.
  2. Build your community before launching.
  3. Don't stay alone: create a network of mentors and supporters around you.
