What's your business, and who are your customers?
ECCS is a consulting company designed for painting contractors and commercial property management companies. I offer direct-to-client services from 25+ years of knowledge in the painting-construction industry from all around the country. When I worked for a corporation, I sold products to customers and had an interest in their growth for the bottom line. I created a company where I can deliver pathways, infrastructure, and services that add to their growth or if they are emerging in a new market. I love the diversity of the market and customers.
Tell us about yourself
The corporate structure began to feel empty. In addition, I gained knowledge well beyond selling a specific product. I decided to bet on myself and the contractors in the industry. I left a successful career and started ECCS. In almost four years in business, I have passed the corporate salary and added value to numerous customers-projects.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Staying in business. Seriously, I discovered how adaptable I really am as a person. My business has pivoted through various parts of the industry while lasting through a pandemic.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
All of the success is based on your capability. I would say continuing to market and gain more customers when you are ready for growth is challenging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, develop a business plan. Second, follow the market and focus on adding value. Third, grow at a medium pace. This prevents growing too fast and failing on commitments.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
It is true if you love what you are doing, it is not work. I get up every day, thankful and motivated.
