What's your business, and who are your customers?
Shop Style Shark is an online women's clothing business for girls and women of all ages. Our site sells viral trends in fashion at an affordable price point. Our customer base is composed of ambitious go-getters. We're focused on empowering women through style & bolstering self-esteem.
Tell us about yourself
In addition to having an innate passion for fashion since childhood, I was inspired to start my own online business after learning about barriers to diversity and equality in the industry. My hope is to change the landscape and open the online fashion industry to other women & people of color.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been achieving my dream by providing affordable, high-quality fashion to my shoppers on a global scale.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It's very difficult to determine what direction to move into at different times. Every day I get hundreds of emails from different companies asking to work for us. It's difficult to decide what's best for your company, who to trust, and how to move forward!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Understand that you are your own biggest asset. No one is going to care as much about your business as you.
- Always remember to maintain a work-life balance. If you're not well, your business isn't going to be!
- The one thing that's constant is change.
