Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Katy Morin, Founder of Social Anxiety Antidote, located in Montreal, QC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Social Anxiety Antidote. I provide the antidote to social anxiety suffers by empowering them to safely use their social skills in social situations. I use an array of different techniques to help my clients reach the best results. My favorite techniques are Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Mindfulness.

Tell us about yourself

I have suffered from social anxiety for years. I know how hard it is to live in a world where social anxiety is crippling your every move. I decided to do something to turn my life around and founded my business so that others wouldn't have to go through what I had gone through. I want to give back. I want to help others live the life they dream of.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As someone who was paralyzed by social anxiety for years, I found a way to take my life back and live the way I wanted by creating my business. The most rewarding experience has been seeing how my clients have benefited from my services.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Juggling every aspect of running a business. From marketing, coaching sessions, and everything in between. Even though it can be difficult, it's all worth it in the end when I am able to help clients overcome their social anxiety and live a happier life.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't think that everything needs to be perfect before you start your business. Start working on it now; the sooner you start, the better.
  2. Never stop learning. No matter what kind of business you're running, always be learning new things.
  3. Keep trying new things and learning from your mistakes. We all make mistakes, but without making our mistakes, we wouldn't learn what we need to know for the future.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I want to tell people with social anxiety that they are not alone and that they can conquer their fears. If I did it, anyone could do it. I am here to guide them on their journey to regain control of their lives.
