Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Stacey Seuferer, Founder of Seuferer Consulting and Coaching, located in Lincoln, NE, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Life Coaching and Consulting. I help clients see they are more than the challenges they face through coaching/consulting. I empower them to find their fountain of joy by tailoring the coaching or consulting to meet their unique goals or needs. I understand that one size does not fit most.

Tell us about yourself

I first started as a mental health advocate. After losing my first husband to suicide when our son was only two and a half years old, I wanted to help others facing this challenge. During my journey, I was fortunate to work for various companies in a supervisor or support role. I found that many companies are not equipped to handle the day-to-day challenges of a diverse group of individuals. I come from a sales and marketing background but quickly found myself coaching small teams to rise above the obstacles they were facing when it came to motivation and goal setting. I love seeing others succeed and find their passion. I enjoy hearing how they could change their mindset and pursue the goals they thought were unattainable, or they got out of their shell and found they had more skills than they gave themselves credit for.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The freedom to set my hours and see my past clients do what they love and achieve what freedom is to them, whether it was limited beliefs or imposter syndrome. Seeing the results of my clients is an accomplishment for me.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Making sure you have the capital to keep your small business running. With inflation and the cost of living continuing to rise, it is hard to keep costs down. You must ensure you are cutting the right corners to keep it open.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Prepare to make sacrifices in your personal life when establishing your business.
  2. Be organized and make lists to stay on track
  3. Stay focused and motivated. It does get tricky, so make sure you have daily affirmations to keep yourself motivated on your goals.
