Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in finance development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Greg Black, Founder of Tencap Wealth Coaching, located in South Jordan, UT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Certified Financial Planner that leads a two-day course called, The American Dream Experience. At The American Dream Experience, we create confident investors through empowering education and transformative conversations. Our clients are intentional and purpose-driven people who are deliberate about making a difference in the world with their resources. The American Dream Experience is a series of conversations that leaves our clients with a sense of greater freedom, fulfillment, and love in the way that they experience money and investing.

Tell us about yourself

I love teaching and being with people. I started Tencap Wealth Coaching to be able to lift others to freedom and power with how they engage and relate to money and investing. I get excited each day, thinking about the genuine and open conversations that I have with our clients about their future and what they want to accomplish. Those conversations create breakthroughs in their life that weren't previously possible or that seemed out of reach.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I started Tencap Wealth Coaching because I was committed to transforming the investing experience for my clients and eliminating speculating and gambling from the investing process. What I'm most proud of is that I have found other partners to join the company that are just as committed to this goal as I am. We have created a company that has a clear purpose, mission, and vision, and each member of our team has given their word to create an environment of excellence and integrity.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

To let the past be in the past and not let it create the future. Living into a "created" future is something that takes consistent effort and conscious awareness. The pull from the past can be strong, and it can cause a business owner to make inaccurate decisions and be short-sighted. But keeping the "created" future alive brings life and energy into a company.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create a game for yourself that will force you to have to become a more effective leader.
  2. Play that game passionately, fearlessly, and intensely.
  3. Don't make the game significant. Remember, it's just a game.
