What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Nourishing Gurus is run by a nutrition duo who help women over 50 heal their relationship with food and lose weight for good. Their holistic approach, which can fit into any lifestyle, encompasses not only wholesome, energizing foods but also powerful habit and mindset shifts that inspire lasting transformation.

Tell us about yourself

Jane Schwartz, RD, CLT is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist a seasoned integrative nutrition counselor, and a speaker.  Jane graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and participated in the Oregon Health Sciences University Graduate Nutrition Internship. She has extensive affiliations and certifications in Adult and Pediatric Weight Management, LEAP Therapy specializing in food sensitivities, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), New Jersey Dietetic Association, Nutrition Entrepreneurs (NE), and Dietitians in Functional Medicine (DIFM).

Stephanie Goodman, CNC is a Certified Nutrition Consultant and Holistic Health Practitioner, and the owner of Progressive Nutrition Solutions LLC. As a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), Stephanie feels that the body has an amazing ability to heal itself with proper nutrition.  Stephanie received her original certification as a Clinical Nutritionist through the Academy of Natural Health Sciences.

This powerhouse nutrition team has over 4 decades of experience. Since turning the mid-century corner a few years ago, they became passionate about helping women in their 50s and beyond eliminate the dieting roller coaster so they can get healthy and stay healthy well into retirement.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping women who had lost all hope finally lose weight and keep it off while feeling energized and confident, knowing they can live a healthy lifestyle for the rest of their lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being able to let go of some of the work and delegate so we can get out there and help more women.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get crystal clear on who you want to help.
  2. Connect with other like-minded individuals who have already achieved some success.
  3. Do the more challenging tasks earlier in the day.
